HOT TOPIC: "Female directors don't yell"
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest | Matthew 11:28-30

Last week @SC we focused on the importance of not wearing oneself out, but this week we will focus on what it means to enter the Lord’s rest. Recently, veteran actress Sophia Loren made this comment regarding working w/ a woman director:
"Having a woman's eye behind the camera is a special thing. Women are great with detail, they enjoy the minutiae of moments. They don't yell, they don't command. They suggest, they inspire."
Back in biblical times, the pharisees enacted burdensome laws that were impossible to follow - Jesus promised relief from this. Instead of throwing a set of guidelines @ people, He instead invited them into a relationship w/ Him that would set them free from continually striving to live up to unreachable worldly standards. In the same way that Loren was suggesting that women are more relational in their directing - Christ is the same. Instead of following rules, He instead asks us to follow Him & His ways, not to burden us but to make us better & to direct us into His rest.
